Times Higher Education, a London based magazine that covers higher education, has put out a list of the world’s 100 top schools that are less than 50 years old.
Its criteria emphasize global scholarship and reputation. Measures include how often the schools are cited in academic research, the volume and impact of the research, the number of degrees awarded, staff-to-student ratios, diversity of the student body and responses to an extensive reputation survey.
South Korea’s. Pohang University of Science and Technology, known as POSTECH, No. 1 on the list.
École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland on number two and KoreaAdvanced Institute of Science and Technology on third spot.
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on 4th, Nanyang Technological University. Singapore on fifth, Maastricht University, Netherland on sixth, University of California on seven, Université Paris-Sud, France on eight, Université Pierre etMarie Curie, France on nine and Lancaster University, U.K. grab 10th position.
