ADMISSION NOTICE

(M.A/M.Sc.) / (LL.B, M.Com) Session: 2013-14

 

Applications on prescribed form, appended to the prospectus, obtainable from United Bank Limited (UBL), University Campus Branch are invited for admissions to Master (2-Year), LLB (3- year) and M.Com (1 & 2 year) degree programmes in the subjects/departments given below so as to reach the Directorate of Admissions on or before 08/10/2013.  Essential details in this regard are as follow:

1. Disaster Management

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.A/B.Sc with Botany, Commerce, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Economics, Forestry, Geography, Geology, Home Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Statistics and Zoology.

Note: Candidates qualifying any NTS Test Type are also eligible

2.Economics

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of Economics with Statistics or Maths-A.

2nd  priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of Economics.3.Gender Studies

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.A in one of the following subjects: Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Urdu Advanced, English (Elective), International Relations.4.International Relations

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of IR.

2nd priority: 2nd class BA with at least 45% marks in one of the following subjects, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Journalism, Sociology, Philosophy, Law, History & Geography.   5.Journalism & Mass Communication

Eligibility:  1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of Journalism.

2nd  priority: At least 45% marks in BA6.Library Science

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.A/B.Sc or equivalent.

Note: Candidates qualifying any NTS Test Type are also eligible7.LLB

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of Law. However a candidate will not be entitled to any preference or benefits of the subject of Law if acquired as an “additional subject” after passing B.A.

2nd priority: At least 45% marks in BA.8.Political Science

 

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of Political Science.9.Psychology

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subjects of Psychology, Applied Psychology.

2nd priority: 2nd class BA with at least 45% marks in Philosophy, Social Work, Sociology, Home Economics, education, B.Sc with Zoology10.Regional Studies

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subjects of IR and Political Science.

2nd priority: 2nd class BA with at least 45% marks in one of the following subjects, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Journalism, Sociology, Philosophy, Law, History & Geography.   11.Social Work

 

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of Social Work.

2nd priority: At least 45% marks in B.A/B.Sc.

Note: Candidates qualifying any NTS Test Type are also eligible12.Sociology

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.A as well as in the subject of Sociology or Social Work or B.Sc Home Economics.

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.Sc as well as in the subject of Botany.

2.Environmental Sciences

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.Sc, B.Sc Forestry, B.Sc (Hons) Geology.

Computer Science

 

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.Sc with Computer Science + Maths A, however, 45% marks in subject of Computer Science is mandatory.

2.

Physics

 

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.Sc with Maths A + Physics, however, 45% marks in the subject of Physics is mandatory.

3.

Mathematics

 

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.A/B.Sc with Maths A + maths B, however, 45% marks in the subject of Maths B is mandatory.

4.

Electronics

 

Eligibility: 1st priority: At least 45% marks in B.Sc with subjects of Electronics, Physics & Maths A.

2nd priority: At least 45% marks in B.Sc with subjects of Physics & Maths A.

5.

Statistics

 

Eligibility: At least 45% marks in B.A/B.Sc with maths A + Statistics, however, 45% marks in the subject of Statistics is mandatory.

NAT-IIM     (Required for Students Seeking Admission in the following Departments/Institutes/Centres)

GENERAL

 

i.      Photocopies of the following documents must be attached with the application form.

a)       Verified copies of B.A/B.Sc. DMC (Part-I & II) / Transcripts.

b)      Domicile Certificate (attested copy).

c)       CNIC (attested copy).

d)      Two recent photographs.

  1. ii.                   Applicants applying against quota seats must attach relevant documents in support of his/her eligibility.
  2. iii.                 Graduates of the session 2012 and 2013 will be given 1st priority, while the others will be given 2nd priority.
  3. iv.                  Applicants are advised to obtain Registration Form for Entry Test available at Facilitation Counter, in Administration Block.
  4. v.                    Applicant must be careful in selecting the correct category of test prescribed for admission to the deptt/subject.
  5. vi.                  An applicant desirous of appearing in more than one Test must register separately.
  6. vii.                Registration for entry test will be made at the Registration counters provided at the room adjacent to Convocation Hall, University of Peshawar w.e.f. 27/09/2013 to 08/10/2013 on payment of                      Rs. 450/- in the respective banks mentioned in the deposit slip.
  7. viii.              Details regarding the Admission, Entry Test, Sample Test and instructions for candidates are made available on university website www.upesh.edu.pk and NTS website www.nts.org.pk.

IMPORTANT:

 

  1. 1.                   Form received by mail or after 08.10.2013 will not be entertained.
  2. 2.                   The University reserves the right to make changes in any programme when deemed necessary.
