Admissions open for M. Phil. /Ph.D. 2016

FJWU offers M.Phil. / Ph.D. Program, consistent with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) criteria/requirement. It is a program requiring full time student enrollment for course work.

 

For admission in M.Phil applicants are required to have:

  • Minimum CGPA 2.5 (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or 1st division (in the Annual System) in Masters / BS 4 years from any HEC recognized university (2nd Div Masters in English is acceptable, as per HEC ruling)
  • Minimum score of 50 in GAT General Test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) (Prior to admission to the M. Phil Program).

N.B. Preference will be given to the students who have completed masters with Research Thesis.
For admission in Ph. D applicants are required to have:

  • Minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System) in M. Phil/M.S/Equivalent
  • Minimum score of 60 in GAT subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS), or ETS, USA in the area of specialization chosen at the PhD level (Prior to admission to the PhD Program)
  • Supervisor’s Consent Letter
  • NOC from the employer (if applicable).

N.B. Preference will be given to the students who have completed MS/M. Phil with Research Thesis.

  • The application forms can be downloaded from the university site and sent to the Admission Office along with a pay order / bank draft of Rs.1200/- in favor of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi through post/courier/by hand.
  • Last Date for Submission of Application Form is July 20, 2016.
  • All information regarding Interview and Merit List would be displayed at University Notice Board and FJWU web-site. No Call letters would be sent for interview / admission offer / commencement of classes, etc.
  • Selected Candidates’ Interview List would be displayed on August 05, 2016.
  • Selected Candidates’ Interview would be held on August 10, 2016.
  • Candidates awaiting results must submit the Application Form within the due date. Late Results (if any) can be submitted separately in Admission Office by August 22, 2016.

ELIGIBILITY FOR M.PHIL PROGRAM

 

A candidate seeking admission in M.Phil /M.S degree programs in a subject must possess a sixteen years education or 4 years B.A / B.S.  or equivalent program after F.A/F.Sc. (130 credit hours) or Master degree in the subject / related field Library Science from any recognized University / Institution with a minimum obtained marks 50%  (Annual System) or its equivalent CGPA, 2.50 in Semester System.

 

ELIGIBILITY FOR PH.D PROGRAM

 

For pursuing a Ph.D degree, a 30 credit hours M.Phil/MS degree with 1st division of CGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or overall 60% marks in annual system or equivalent in the relevant subject is a prerequisite from any recognized University. In case of foreign degree, it will be made sure that it is equivalent to Pakistani M.Phil/M.S degree from any recognized University / Institution.

 

OTHER CONDITIONS

M.Phil. degree program will be open to all who meet the admission criteria. However, serving candidates will have to submit N.O.C. from their respective Department with the application form. A study leave document from their respective employer for a period of two years has to be submitted at the time of registration. The candidate will be a full time regular student for two years to cover the course work.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

 

Applications should be submitted together with attested four copies of all educational certificates; detail marks certificates, Local/Domicile certificate, C.N.I.C etc. Admission form can be obtained from the office of the Assistant Registrar (Planning), University of Balochistan on payment of Rs. 2,000/- through Challan of Habib Bank Limited, University Branch Quetta.

 

The complete applications/forms will have to be deposited in relevant Department/Institute/Center. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

 

Last date for receipt of Applications is July, 15th 2015.

 

Sindh University Fees to M.Phil, PhD scholars being returned under PM’s scheme

Fees to M.Phil, PhD scholars being returned under PM’s scheme

Sindh University’s Dean Graduate Studies has informed that the fees to the M.Phil & PhD scholars of 2012 & 2014 batches are being returned under Prime Minister’s fee reimbursement scheme.

The eligible scholars can collect their cheques from their respective departments and institutes.

According to statement, the scholars must bring student identity card and enrollment card in order to collect their cheques from the concerned departments.
