Lahore High Court Friday suspended the notification of Rs200 increase in exam registration fee for private students of class 9th and ordered the boards to issue their roll number slips immediately.
Justice Ayesha A Malik passed the order on petitions moved by 9th class students from private schools. The court was informed on Friday that the students had deposited Rs700 as registration fee for upcoming examination. After the date of depositing the fee, the educational boards increased Rs200 more under the same head by releasing a notification and stopped roll number slips of hundreds of students, the court heard.
The court was told that the delay in issuance of roll number slips could create hardships for the students who are busy preparing for examination.
