About the Scholarship

The International Student Scholarships are a testament to Bond University’s commitment to quality and outstanding international students. These scholarships are available to international students who have demonstrated outstanding academic ability (academic merit based scholarships).

International Student Scholarship application closing dates for each semester are highlighted below:

Availability
  • 10 x 25% scholarships annually
  • 10 x 50% scholarships annually
Eligibility
  • Available for international students only, for undergraduate or postgraduate study.
  • Applicants must currently be or have previously been in the top 5% of their high school or university class.
  • Students will be selected for scholarships based on outstanding academic ability. In addition, demonstrated strong leadership skills and extensive involvement in extracurricular activities will also be considered.
  • Students whose first language is not English must refer to and meet Bond University’s standard. English entry requirements for undergraduate applicants.
  • English entry requirements for postgraduate applicants.
Selection Criteria

Successful applicants will be awarded these scholarships based on their ability to meet the eligibility criteria outlined

Application Submission

All international students who have made an application to study at Bond University (by the scholarship closing date for each semester) will be considered for an International Student Scholarship.
It is recommended that when students complete a Bond University Application Form, they submit a personal statement (outlining why you should be awarded a Bond scholarship), references, resume and certified copies of other relevant documentation to assist in supporting your application.

As part of the selection process, all shortlisted applicants will be required to participate in a telephone interview.

Selections for each intake of scholarship students are assessed based on academic merit. Should your submission not be successful at the time of application, your details will be reassessed for future semester intakes up until the point of acceptance.

Please note: Only short-listed applicants will be contacted for an interview. If you are not contacted for an interview by the dates stated in the general information above, then you can assume you have been unsuccessful in your application. Students will not be notified of their unsuccessful application in writing.

The Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship will provide an opportunity to outstanding candidates to receive a living stipend for up to three years indexed annually.

There are a limited number of scholarship opportunities available which are awarded to students wishing to continue their education through higher degree research.

This opportunity is open to students intending to commence a research higher degree at Bond University as well as students currently enrolled in a higher degree research program at Bond. Preference will be given to students yet to commence higher degree research studies with Bond University.

Applicants must complete the application form located on the Bond University website and email their application and supporting documentation as a single PDF to researchscholarships@bond.edu.au by no later than 31 March, 2014.

Eligibility:

The scholarship is open to both domestic and international students who:

  •  are studying a research masters or research doctorate degree,
  • have a minimum first class honours or equivalent,
  • have applied and received an offer for admission to a higher degree research program at Bond University,
  • have not previously held an Australian Government-funded research scholarship,
  • are a domestic student (Australian citizen or permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen), or an international fee-paying student or recipient of an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship.

Please note: in order for a scholarship application to be considered, intending Applicants must have an offer for admission to a higher degree research program at Bond University or be currently enrolled in a higher degree research program at Bond University

Once admission requirements have been met, your application will entered into the Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship Round.

Students who hold a scholarship with another education institution may apply to transfer to a Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship and will be required to terminate their existing scholarship if successful.

Scholarships will be based on the key criteria and awarded on academic merit.

Value:

The scholarship is tax exempt, and is for living costs for:
• up to 2 years for Research Masters students; and
• up to 3 years for Research Doctorate students; or
• pro rata for part-time Research students

The base Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship stipend will be at the rate of $26,140 (2014) and indexed annually. Payments are made by direct credit fortnightly through the Bond University payroll system.
