FALL SEMESTER – 2014
Master Programme

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), established in 2009, is imparting quality education at door steps through its 8 campuses viza-viz Main Campus Mardan, Garden Campus Mardan, University College of Science Shankar Mardan, University College for Women Mardan, Shaheed Rashid Hussain Campus Pabbi, Buner Campus, Timargara Campus and Bacha Khan Campus Chitral. AWKUM offers admission in 27 disciplines, in Arts and Humanities, Social, Basic and Applied Sciences at Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate levels. AWKUM is the fastest growing university in Pakistan.

The following 3 departments are duly accredited by relevant National Accreditation Councils of Pakistan.

  1. Department of Management Sciences
  2. Department of Computer Science
  3. Department of Education

Also the Department of Pharmacy and the Department of Law have been issued N.O.C. from the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan and the Pakistan Bar Council respectively.

Presently more than 7500 students are enrolled in various programmes. Among the highly qualified faculty, 114 are Ph.D and 92 are MS/M.Phil. Under the largest HRD programme in the country, 73 scholars are pursuing their Ph.D in various technologically advanced countries of the world and 56 scholars are studying in different universities of the country.

The already established 4 campuses and the upcoming new Garden Campus are situated in Mardan which is at short distance from Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Malakand, Swabi are easily accessible. Garden Campus (the new Main Campus of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan) is spread over more than 2000 Kanals of land. Construction on 32 buildings is in the final stages. Books, Lab equipments and furniture have been ordered. Classes in the new state of Art building at Garden Campus, fully equipped with all facilities will start from current session.

       Transport Facility       

Abdul Wali Khan Univesity Mardan has probably, the largest transport fleet in the country. Pick and drop facilities for students at all Campuses in Mardan are available for Fazli Abad,Takht Bhai, Sher Garh, Lund Khwar, Risalpur, Nowshera, Manga, Charsadda, Peshawar, Katlang, Mian Khan, Gaddar, Sawal Dher, Bakhshali, Gujrat, Swabi, Ghari Kapoora,Toru, Mayar, Nawi Kali and Local Mardan. In Shaheed Rashid Hussain Campus Pabbi for Peshawar, Jehangira, Nowshera, Akora Khattak, Mardan In Timargara Campus for Timargara, Talash, Sarai, Nasafa, Ouch and Gul Abad. In Buner Campus for Krapa, DHQ Hospital, Daggar, Elai, Anghapur, Torwarsak and Jowar and in Bacha Khan Campus Chitral for Singoor, Balach, Danin, Chew Pul, Mul Deh, Sabzi Mandi,Hone, Jughur, Juti Lasht and Ayun.

        Hostel Facility 

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan provides hostel facility to both girls and boys (students and staff both).The details are as under:

Boys: Hostel facility is available for boys at Buner and Timergara Campuses and from current session onwards hostel facility will be available at Garden Campus Mardan.

Girls: Hostel facility is available for girlsat the Main Campus, Buner Campus and Bacha Khan Campus Chitral.

Staff Hostel: Hostel facility is available for staff at Main Campus, Riffat Mahal Campus, Buner Campus, Timergara Campus and Bacha Khan Campus Chitral.

Students Financial Aid Programme of AWKUM

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has a comprehensive scholarship programme for providing financial assistance to meritorious and financially constrained students. The details of scholarships are as under:
AWKUM, Endowment Fund Scholarships:

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has established University Endowment Fund since February, 2010 for providing merit and need based scholarships to Undergraduate and Graduate students. So far the University has awarded 2368 scholarships to its students.

 

HEC Need Based Scholarships:

Higher Education Commission offers HEC Need based Scholarships for deserving students for the entire four years Undergraduate,Programmes. So far the University has awarded 113 scholarships to its students.

 

French Need Based Scholarships:

The French Government is providing scholarships to needy students of AWKUM through Higher Education Commission, Islamabad (under process).
German Need Based Scholarships:

The German Government is providing scholarships to deserving students of AWKUM through Higher Education Commission, Islamabad (under process).

 

Workers Welfare Board Scholarships:

These scholarships are generally awarded to those students of AWKUM, whose parents are currently working in registered factories or retired from registered factories.
MORA Scholarships:

These scholarships are provided to needy and poor students of AWKUM from Zakat Funds by Ministry of Religious Affairs through recommendation of District Zakat and Usher Offices. So far the University has awarded 1192 scholarships to its students.

 

The “Prime Minister’s Tuition Fee Reimbursement Payment Scheme” Scholarships:

Federal Government offers these scholarships to students from Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Shangla, Buner, Swat, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Malakand, Kohistan and FATA region studying at AWKUM, which covers tuition fee for the entire academic program at Graduate and Postgraduate level studies ( for Master, MPhil and Ph.D). So far the University has awarded 666 scholarships to its students.

 

Frontier Education Foundation Scholarship: 

These scholarships are provided by Frontier Education Foundation for the poor and talented students of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. So far the University has awarded 18 scholarships to its students.

 

Minority Scholarships: 

These scholarships aim to support the minority students with highest academic potential and strong motivation to bring progress to their families and communities.

 

Siblings Fee Concession Scholarships:

If more than one brother/sister is enrolled, the younger brother/sister will get half fee concession. The concession granted shall only be in tuition fee.
National Bank of Pakistan Student Loan Scheme: 

Financial Assistance is extended by providing interest free loans to the needy students who are financially constrained in their pursuit of Higher Education. The Graduate and Postgraduate students can benefit from this scheme.

  1. Candidates desiring to apply for more then one discipline and campuses are required to submit separate application for each discipline / campus in the prescribed manner.
  2. Along-with their application forms candidates are required to attach:-

(I) Bank Draft of RS. 100/-  for each form in favor of Treasurer Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

OR          

(ii) Receipt of online transfer of Rs. 100/- for each form to UBL A/C. No. 0273-88300322

  1. Those applying online shall take a print of admission form and submit it to the concerned departments along with receipt / bank draft.
  2. The applicants are requested to submit admission form to the concerned department.
  3. Maximum age limit for admission is 30-year.

 

Note:-

 

  1. Two seats per discipline are reserved for Afghan Students.
  2. 2% seats are reserved for Sports.
  3. 5% seats are reserved for FATA & Baluchistan.
  4. 2 seats (each) are reserved for Disabled and Hafiz-i-Quran in the university.
