SCHEDULE:

Scrutiny of papers by the concerned departments/institutes/Centres and remittance of fee             24th Februaryto 28th February 2014.

(The concerned Departments may adopt proper procedure for short listing of eligible candidates  & subsequent selection within the given time frame)

 

ELIGIBILITY:

                MS, MPhil, MS/MPhil leading to PhD

 

  1. Relevant Master’s degree or 4-years education after intermediate (132 Credit hours), with at least Second Division or a CGPA of 2.50 from a recognized University.
  2. Candidates must have passed GAT (General) by scoring at least 50% marks before the submission of form.

 

MS/M.Phil Leading to PhD:

Candidates will be admitted on the basis of GAT General Test with a minimum score of 50%, and will further require to qualify GAT Subject test (i.e. score at least 60 percent) conducted by NTS prior to conversion to PhD.

PhD

 

Candidates having MS/M.Phil or 18 years education with a CGPA 3.0 in Semester System or 1st Division in Annual System. Applicants must have a valid GAT (Subject) with a minimum score of 60% prior to submission of form.

*             The following criterion will be acceptable for Centre for Disaster Preparedness & Management only:

  1. Preference will be given to the candidates having 16 Years of Education in the discipline of Disaster Preparedness & Management.
  2. Candidates having 16 Years of Education in Agricultural Engineering, Animal / Plant Sciences, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Gender Studies, Geography, Geology, Medical Sciences, Management Sciences, Mining Engineering, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology / Rural Sociology, Urban and Regional Planning are also eligible / acceptable.

IMPORTANT:

 

  • Candidates are required to submit valid result card of GAT (General/Subject) with the admission forms. Applications without NTS result card are not acceptable.
  • Candidates employed in any Government or Semi-Government Department/Organization must submit No Objection Certificate from the concerned Department/Organization within 30 days after initial selection failing which the selection will be deemed to have lapsed.
  • Provision of hostel accommodation is not mandatory and is subject to availability of seats
  • In case of ambiguity about eligibility, the opinion of the Graduate Studies Committee of the concerned department may be taken into consideration.
  • Schedule for Interview/Scrutiny of papers and remittance of fee will be given by each Deptt/Centers/Institute within the period between 24th Februaryto 28th February 2014.
